In this article I will explore the question, why is there a woman international day but not a mans day?
Why?
The website https://nikkibush.com/, state this in their article about this topic:
You don’t have to be an ardent feminist or militant women’s libber to work out that women, unlike men, have had to fight untold battles to achieve gender equality for hundreds of years.
That’s why we celebrate Women’s Day and not Men’s Day. It’s a moment in time when we acknowledge the contributions women have made to the progression of humanity. Those women who gave the rest of us a voice and fought for our right to equality and those who continue to do so, because we are not there yet.
Examples of such fabulous woman, which without them, today our lives could’ve been a lot different
Emmeline Pankhurst, who founded the suffragette movement and helped women win the right to vote.
Florence Nightingale, who pioneered modern nursing and hygiene in hospitals as she headed up a team of nurses during the Crimean War.
Marie Salomea Skłodowska–Curie was a Polish and French, who was instrumental in the discovery of X-Rays, the first woman to win the Nobel Prize and the only person to win it twice.
In my opinion, why?
My opinion is very similar, to what the article has stated. In my opinion, there is a woman day, because us woman. Are the makers, of each person, the woman is what gives birth, and goes through months, of carrying a child.
Woman were always mistreated
Woman have always been mistreated, not being able to vote, or go to work, as they were forced to stay at home.
In South Africa, woman still have to fight for their rights:
- Equal pay (there is still a gender pay gap between men and women
- Better representation from the boardroom to parliament
- Violence and sexual abuse against women
- Keeping girl children in school by providing them with sanitary protection which millions cannot afford resulting in them missing a week of school each month

While men not so much…
Men never had to face those things, for a long time, before my days, woman were though of as second class citizens.
For such a long time, woman were treated like second class citizens
In religion class, we were talking about the bible and my religion teacher stated, how even when Jesus was alive, woman wee being treated worse than men, which is also why he talked and helped them.
Men were sent to war, but had the power to everything. While woman weren’t, and still to this day, in some countries, there a woman, and children which are girls, which aren’t aloud a lot of human right. Which is insane to me, as it is 2023, and I think we all have established the fact, we are all equal.
