While there are many problems with all the different generations, in these newer times, especially generation z. However in this article i will cover generation alpha. The concerns of how these children, are growing up. With what they are growing up, with what harms, that can lead to further problems. I will discuss those furtherly in this article.

Generation alpha, what generation is it?

Generation Alpha is the first to be born entirely in the 21st century. – Wikipedia

Based on that statement alone, we can already imagine the cons brought with being born, entirely, in the 21st Century. And that is what i will cover, but first, what generation, is Generation Alpha?

Childhood of Gen Alpha

Explaining further the quote above, talking of the childhood of this generation. It is true, they are the first generation, who from birth, will be online. Whether it is watching things like “cocomelon” on their Ipad, or watching and creating Tiktoks at the age of 7. They are introduced to the idea of social media, from the moment they are alive. Its surrounding them, the Ai, Chat GPT, Tiktok, Youtube, Netflix. No more memorizes of CD players, instead now things like Disney +.

The impact, of the newer day way of living

Introducing, and having these things present to a child, their whole life from birth, will impact their future, and their behavior even now. Kids aged 11, watching Tiktoks of girls, sexualizing themselves, wearing revealing clothes, will go ahead and do the same. While most generations at that age were still playing with dolls, and wearing childish clothes. It is terrifying even for me to see, 6th classers, run around half naked, while I in their age, was wearing unicorn leggings with not a care in the world about if it showed off enough of my body.

The social media

Having sources like Snapchat, Instagram, and Tiktok, open to a child, who’s brain is still developing, is extremely harmful, to both its perception of life, body image, and mental well-being. Most kids, even early teens, are prone to believing anything online, whether its a photo shopped photo, or fake news. Exposure to these harmful things even to adults, but especially to kids, will and is having an enormous effect on the way they grow up, and will then live on to view themselves and the world.

The results, of these things

It is a sad way to have a childhood, but with the way of things looking, it is something inevitable. As now we do have social media, and no way of turning around from it. Atleast our childhoods, were safe from the poisonous impact of social media.

However its not just Generation Alpha that these things will affect, the next Generations to come will face the exact same issue, until there will be put a stop to it, until then, kids will continue to grow up faster. Continue to sexualize themselves, ruin their perception of life, understand the real concept way of life.

Because we have to remember too, they are just kids, only learning their morals of right and wrong. And there is only so much a parent can control. For now, things like these will continue to grow and increase.
