This topic, and article idea of mine, had came to mind when I was watching one of my series: The mind, explained, on Netflix. And it had shown, the statistics, of how more more lonelier social media can actually make people feel.
How does social media make us feel lonelier?
Some examples can be, sitting in your home alone, which is fine, and fine by you. Yet you scroll through instagram, and see all the stories your friends made. On how they’re having fun with friends, partying etc. And it makes you feel worse, and alone. Because you see how they’re out they’re having fun and yes maybe you are too. But they’re out, with friends. Which can cause great loneliness.
How can we use social media, in healthy amounts, to not feel lonely
Don’t over use it. What i mean by that, is don’t be spending hours, over hours on it. Scrolling and seeing all these peoples “perfect” lives.Because the truth is, nothing about the things people post on social media is true. Its all fake, but us as humans always compare. And we compare ourselves, sitting on the couch having a break k, to someone out they’re “living” they’re lives.
