Mixed schools or the same gender school? Which one is better is a question a lot of people argue about nowadays. Some say same gender schools shouldn’t be a thing, some say it’s too old fashion yet some say its better. In Ireland from over the years same gender schools have still be a thing, i’ve went to a all girl school all my life and will till I turn 18-19. There are mixed schools too though,and more are getting built.
Where do Boys perform best?
“Looking at the reading test scores of over 200,000 15-year-olds from over 8,000 mixed schools around the world, researchers discovered that boys’ performance was significantly better in schools where more than 60% of the pupils were girls.” Says a article from https://www.thejournal.ie/.This study show’s that boys/males perform better in school/exams when there’s girls around. They’re article also says “the implication was that the higher number of girls in the school, the more productive the learning environment”.

While the other article showed us boys function better in mixed schools this article tells us girls on the other hand. Function better in all girl schools.
Why do girls perform better in All girls schools While boys in mixed schools?
In my opinion I think girls function better in all girls school as in mixed schools there’s a lot of competition over boy’s while in all girls school I think they can focus better. I also think the girls don’t focus as much on looks if there aren’t any boys around.
I think maybe boys work better in mixed schools as some boys be smart to show off, yet it’s only some.
What is my opinion on this?
Ithink all girls schools or all boys schools should not be a thing. My first reason for this (I will go with all girls school as I don’t know the experience of someone who goes to all boys school). My first reason is because girls are only socializing with girls most of their time which is school. This could lead to girls not being able to socialise with boys/males. This could be a downside for their future if they have to work with male’s for work. I think being in a mixed school helps socializing with both genders and helps preparing you for the future. Where you will work with both genders.
I also think it is important for girls and boys to be able to speak and hangout with both genders, I think maybe girls would behave a bit more if they knew boys were watching.
To summarise
There are cons to that though as showing off and putting other girls own for the validation of boys. But in general for me I think it’s extremely important to have the skills of being able to socialise with both genders.
