Climate change , most of us know what it is, but do we know how it is affecting Ireland? Ireland is a pretty small country comparing to all the other countries in the middle of Europe. So it shouldn’t be affected that much by climate change right? Well the answer to that is no. It might be a small country, but it can be affected by climate change just like any other country in Europe. Yes the bigger the country the more people will get effected by it. But it does not make the chances smaller of climate change. Climate change is all over the world now and i don’t think there is a country without it. Climate change has basically covered all of earth , but is there a way to fix it
Why is climate change bad?
Climate change is like a blanket, it basically covers earth from the inside. There’s these small micro bacteria and they make the atmosphere. Because of all the factories, the smoke gets up to the atmosphere and kills some of the micro bacteria. And that makes the atmosphere weaker and we all know that without atmosphere we have no oxygen , and that simply means death. Another way this is bad that if that atmosphere breaks not only will we have no oxygen. Also the sun will make all our crops die and then we either die from starvation or from heat.
Whats is the cause of climate change?
Now we talked about what the climate change does to us but now lets talk about whats the cause. To be honest there is no other words to put it because the cause of climate change is simply Humans. Humans make factories that burn wood,plastic and other stuff. We make cars our specie makes trains and airplanes that ruins the atmosphere because of the smoke.
Now in Ireland its not that bad but for an example in some places in Poland people have to wear gas masks if they have asthma because there is just so much smoke . You might be thinking well its Poland fault they are producing more and more objects or factories that make smoke well its not only their fault its also the countries around Poland faults, because the smoke travels and lands in different countries.
Cars/Airplanes/cars
We have talked about one of the causes of climate change but there are more and i probably wont be able to say them all but ill say the most i can. The first one were going to talk about are cars/airplanes/trains/buses/etc when we drive them they release smoke that goes up in the air. There are so much cars and airplanes that we wont be able to stop people from making them or stop them from using them completely but we can do is just use them less. Now in these pandemic times climate change is getting worse but because we have to stay at homes we don’t use cars or airplanes or buses as much and that does really help. What i’m trying to say is that when these pandemic times will be over try to use your car less , lets say use your bike to go to school/work. Or go on a walk to the park instead of driving there , there is just so much ways we can use less fossil fuels.
Ships
Also ships , there are some ships with oil and they from time to time spill into the ocean , that substance that accidentally gets poured into sea is very harmful for the sea animals there. And because now people don’t use ships as much some whales were seen places they were never ever before seen! I mean isn’t that just amazing! Now because we haven’t been using cars as much some places have become even more dangerous because lions or rhinos or other sorts of animals have been going on roads and that is very dangerous for the people driving or living in that area.
Factories
Now moving onthe next cause is Factories, factories are all over the earth and they are very active. You see sometimes you need to burn platic or unneeded wood and that makes a lot of smoke . I live in Midleton but some of my activites for example piano are in Cork. And whenever we drive through there we see a huge factory on the left nd a lot of smoke coming out! I never knew that there was a factory in Cork but now i know and maybe now you know too! Factories are very harmful and they are also the biggest cause to ice bergs melting .
Icebergs
Some of Antarctica is made out of ice bergs where polar bears live on but now they are melting and there are fewer of them. This is not only bad for the polar bears but for penguins too and also it is even more harmful to us on land because if all the icebergs melt all our land will be under water. Basically right now you might not have noticed but the sea is slowly rising because of the icebergs melting and that means that humans and animals that cannot swim will die eventually. The birds wont be able to live either because what about food? we will either die from starvation or from drowning . That might seem very harsh but that is the truth and we have to be ready for it if we don’t start action.
Australian Fires
You might of heard of Australian bush fires well that is also caused by climate change so not only will it make the sea level rise but it will also dry out our planet . A lot of koala’s have died in those fires. And some people and a lot of houses have also been ruined. Most importantly tree’s have been had to cut down and that means less oxygen.So maybe next time you waste paper think of how much more oxygen and tree’s we could have if we just used less paper or we had less factories because most factories use wood as fuel.
But remeber nothing is impossible, God gave us this earth and we are ruining it. Still we also have to remember that there is always time for change.
