Energy drink are supposed to be for adults/teens over 16 but sadly kids from 8 to 14 drink it nowadays. For some it is a trend!
This trend is not healthy because energy drinks have about 74.4 mg of caffeine. The energy drink that is most drank by kids is monster and Lucozade, these drinks are for exercise mostly and do not belong in a child’s body.
Most kids drink these energy drink for sleepovers to keep them awake or because of the trend to be popular.
One can of monster has 86.4 mg of caffeine which is a lot if it is in a child’s body. There is one monster which the worst of all the monsters, its called java monster 300 shot and as you can tell it has 300 caffeine.
Too much of caffeine and chemicals can cause dependence, dehydration, insomnia, heart palpitations and/or an increased heart rate in both children and adults.
If a child or adult drink too much energy drinks it can lead to: caffeine overdose (which can lead to a number of symptoms, including palpitations, high blood pressure, nausea and vomiting, convulsions and, in some cases, even death) type 2 diabetes – as high consumption of caffeine reduces insulin sensitivity.
If you want to be safe the best way is too not drink monster at all but if you really want to you can like once a year now this is talking about a child an adult I think the safest would be also once a year but because adults do like energy drinks I think once a month is fine!
Monster is very much like red bull.
Now going back to monster I once had a sleepover with 3 friends in September 2020 I remember this day very well… We all went to the mall and it was great! When we came back from the mall I had to go to piano because it was a Friday when I came back we were all so happy to get home. At the mall one of my friends bought the red ultra monster she said it was for her for home because she was just coming for a playdate. When we came home we started getting the snacks ready and started watching Riverdale. Then all of a sudden my mom asked does the friends that bought the monster wants to stay for a sleepover of course my mom didn’t know about the monster but I and she shouted yes. Afterwards my parents went upstairs and my friend took out the monster me and one of my friends were terrified so we just continued then my friend with the monster asked if we wanted todrink it, we all just took a small sip except her she drank the whole can. After that we watched a horror movie but we had to turn it off because I got scared. Me and my best friends played Minecraft and then started laughing. A little while later the friend with the monster said to be quite but we didn’t want to so we carried on laughing then she went to the bathroom and said she is going to be sleeping there. We were all very frightened we went over to her and she started cursing and saying she doesn’t know what’s real and not we tried to cheer her up but it was no use. Later that night she went to the kitchen floor and started lying there we asked what’s wrong and she started crying. Soon after that we all went to my parents it was 3:45 am my mom came downstairs and comforted my friend (the one who brought the monster) my mom made her sleep in my room while the rest of us were in the living room. In the morning Me and my friends woke up very tired but the one who drank the monster looked and acted fine like if nothing ever happened, we ate pancakes with some raspberries from the garden they were DELICIOUS. A few minutes later her mom came to pick her up while the rest of my friends stayed, it was pretty calm later that day we played Minecraft and It was just really fun.
Later that day my mom came to all of us and asked if something was bothering us and one of my friends were mumbling about monsters so then eventually we told my mom the truth and after all it wasn’t that bad she explained a bit about the monsters and we understood a lot more about how harmful energy drinks can be.
You might be wondering what is it well energy drink is like an alcohol for kids it makes them hyper and kind of like drunk now I’m not saying to make your children to stop drinking energy drinks and start drinking coffee, because coffee and energy drinks have around the same amount of caffeine.
Thank you so much for reading. Hope this helped!
