Earth Day

Earth Day

Earth Day is celebrated worldwide on April 22 yearly to raise public awareness about the environment and inspire people to save and protect it. The theme for this year’s Earth Day 2021  is “Restore Our Earth” which focuses on natural processes and emerging green technologies that can restore the world’s ecosystems.

What happen’s on Earth Day?

Earth Day’s mission is to diversify, educate and activate the environmental movement worldwide. Earth Day seeks to encourage people to change, holding those responsible for the world’s environmental crisis to account, while also calling for bold, creative, and innovative solutions.

You also might be wondering who came up with Earth Day. Well first I would like to say that this person went through alot of critism but got there eventually. We only have one earth, so we need to take care of her. That’s what Senator Gaylord Nelson of Wisconsin believed. He was disturbed that an issue as important as our environment was not addressed in politics or by the media, so he created the first Earth Day, on April 22, 1970.

Who celebrates Earth day?

Around 192 countries celebrate’s Earths Day. Some of them are Australia, Canada, South Africa Moldova, Philipense, Spain, India, Great Britain and Japan.
