Being alone, No civilization. Not in the sense of having no friends, no family. No, that’s not my biggest fear nor what scares me most. Being alone completely.
For example: Even just watching zombie apocalypse movies, gets me scared. I’m in general a sensitive person, so I always put my self in that position. Of being completely alone. Everyone in the world either dead or infected.
The impossible
One of the movies which very much triggered my fear was “The Impossible” movie. Not only am I incredibly afraid of tsunamis, but I found it terrifying, how the characters there, were alone, stranded, no civilization, no people.
The city over the countryside
I researched the fear of being alone, being afraid of being away from civilization. As my fear is so large, that when I am away, in the country side, I feel uneasy, uncomfortable. As im away from civilization, most people. That’s why I like big city, where lots of things are going on, where there are millions of people. As in places so deserted, like countrysides, make me feel afraid.
What is autophobia (fear of being alone)?
People who have autophobia have an irrational, extreme fear of being alone. A person may experience this fear when they’re alone.
Some people may have autophobia even when they’re with other people. In this case, the fear centers on worries about isolation. They may feel alone in a crowd. Or they may worry about people leaving them, or having to go home and be alone.
What’s the difference between fear of being alone and loneliness?
When you’re lonely, you feel unhappy or sad about the quantity or quality of social connections in your life.
When you have autophobia, you feel anxious or scared when you’re alone or when you think about being alone. You feel this way regardless of how many loved ones and friends are in your life.
